Identifying Skin Types

Being a beauty therapist you need to know the skin type for facial treatments and related skin care products. Human skin is of four types namely Dry, Normal, Oily and Combination. Dry skin may have a sallow tone, wrinkles and fine pores. Normal skin type has the tendency to become either slightly greasy or somewhat dry. It generally has no blemishes. It is the least problematic type. It looks clean and has a healthy complexion. Oily skin usually looks greasy, thick and shiny, has enlarged pores. The good thing about oily skin is it doesn’t develop wrinkles. If your nose and forehead are oily but cheeks are normal than your skin type is combination type. Additionally, skin type can be categorized as sensitive; which is usually dry and pale. Sensitive skin can become inflamed easily. Be careful while choosing skin care products for sensitive skin because they may contain ingredients that can cause damage to your skin.
